At evoleum, we are committed to showcasing women who inspire us and who share our holistic vision of beauty.
To start this new section, we had the pleasure of interviewing the talented facialist Alix Saint-Georges.
In a few words, who are you?
I'm Alix Saint Georges, mom and facialist in Paris since 2018. I'm originally from Lille and I traveled a lot before settling in Paris.
Your mantra?
Fewer products, more gestures. The skin is a living organ that needs to be massaged to fully activate its natural functions. Cosmetics are wonderful tools, but so are the hands.
Your 3 favorite beauty products?
Crème Démaquillante by Absolution, ultra-gentle and allowing a real massage during makeup removal. Alaena's Fruit Acid Peel, very effective for improving skin texture. Clarins Tonic Oil, which I apply to wet skin as I get out of the shower, for a pleasant energy boost.
What's the best beauty tip you've ever received?
To massage my face for 3 minutes every evening.
What's the wellness routine you can't live without (yoga, etc.)?
I practice yoga 4 to 5 times a week (via an app and for fairly short periods!) Indispensable for loosening up the body and not getting sore all over with massages! I also take 20 minutes every evening in my bathroom to remove my make-up, shower and massage my face. It's my decompression time after a busy day.
Can you tell us more about the facialist profession?
It's a profession that's currently booming. It involves working on the skin of the face using manual massage techniques, combined with in-depth knowledge of biology and cosmetology. It's a practice that allows us to care for and maintain the skin in a very physiological way, and which provides a deep sense of well-being. It's important to me to help my customers regain their beautiful skin, and sometimes to reconcile after years of skin problems. Listening and advising are an integral part of my job.
How did you get here?
I spent a long time working in marketing in Paris and Hong Kong before discovering facial massage in Asia. Over there, it's a widespread practice, even if the term facialist isn't widely used. I'm passionate about skin and beauty in general, and it was when I returned to France that I decided to devote myself to it. So I passed my CAP in aesthetics and then specialized through various training courses to become a facial expert.
What inspires you?
The entrepreneurs around me and people who believe that anything is possible. It gives you so much positive energy to move forward.
What's your favorite book?
Lately, I've been really struck by Les Impatientes, by Djaïli Amadou Amal. It's a deeply moving book about the condition of women.
If you had to choose, would you rather : Oxygénation Radiance or Longévité ?
It's difficult, but I choose Longévité because marine collagen is wonderful for the skin!
You can find Alix Saint-Georges on Mondays at Gynécée and on Thursdays at rue Henri Rochefort in the 17th arrondissement in Paris. The other days of the week, Alix practices in Bécon les Bruyères.
Our nutricosmetic cures are perfectly combined with the massages practiced by Alix for an in & out approach to beauty.
Hyaluronic acid (HA) is a molecule naturally present in our bodies. Particularly in the skin, which stores 50% of the human body's total hyaluronic acid, joints and eyes. It plays a key role in maintainingskin hydration and elasticity thanks to its unique ability to retain up to 1,000 times its weight in water. With age, natural hyaluronic acid production declines, leading to dryness, wrinkles and loss of cutaneous volume.
